Banfi Vintners

In 1986 Viña Concha y Toro decided to produce a world-class wine that could compete with ultra-premium wines worldwide and help position Chile as a producer of high-quality wines. The objective was not only to produce the finest red wine possible from Chile, but also to create a "terroir" wine of world repute. Concha y Toro named the resulting Cabernet Sauvignon after Company founder Don Melchor de Concha y Toro, crafting its first vintage in 1987. The wine was an immediate success from its beginning and is recognized as the Best Red Wine from Chile by both Wine Spectator and by Robert Parker.

The character, complexity and finesse of Don Melchor embody the perfect balance between the age of the vines, the passion of man and the generous climate of the stony Puente Alto vineyard that stands at the foot of the Andes.

Don Melchor is a bright ruby red. Expressive and complex chocolate, black cherry and ripe plum mingle with coffee and cassis aromas. Full bodied with red fruit flavors and ripe tannins that lead to a long and juicy finish.
