Over two centuries ago, a company now known as Finsbury Distillery was established in London to make ginger wine, a long established British drink. Stone's Ginger Wine is the only wine label in the world ever to carry the City of London Coat of Arms. It is now produced under license from the Finsbury Distillery by J.E. Mather and Sons and is exported to over 40 countries.

Stones Ginger Wine is made from top quality raisins imported from Cyprus, Greece and Turkey. The fortified raisin wine is 'steeped' in ground ginger for several weeks. The wine is allowed to mature in order to achieve its mellow roundness and rich golden color. The entire process takes a year and the recipe has not changed since 1740. Stone's can be served as an apertif or as a 'mixer' with a wide array of drinks including: whisky, brandy, sparkling wine, lemonade and even coffee.
