POSITION STATEMENT
The position of District Manager, Ohio is responsible for directing, communicating, motivating, organizing, and controlling execution of company and supplier goals to achieve optimum sales on Banfi’s brand portfolio. The position is responsible for communicating to the Regional Manager the status and needs of customers.

The position is responsible for communicating to the Regional Manager the status and needs of customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for managing Banfi Vintners portfolio of products within designated markets including distributors and the trade.
• Responsible for executing the volume and profit plan for assigned designated markets.
• Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all sales efforts in specified markets.
• Use ‘category management’ methods and data to increase retailer sales.
• Develop category insights based on the retailer’s sales data. Use Banfi internal sales data, data reflecting total category sales and other qualitative data to help retailers to optimally plan and execute the selection, quantification, assortment, procurement and placement of finished goods at the point-of-sale.
• Develop space planning analysis and processes across category development.
• Optimize inventory levels, maintain a profitable product mix and respond rapidly to market changes.
• Help the retail buyer maximize sales for that buyer’s entire category.
• Develop specific strategies to implement brand goals including analysis of how chain does business, and propose resource allocation for maximum depletion results.
• Responsible for finalizing proposals for chain pricing and promotions that crosses district or regional markets using guidelines developed by the Brand Directors.
• Accountable for meeting annual volume and profit plan; and for managing and allocating trade spending and total sales expense.
• Take active role in assessing distributor performance.
• Manage and develop wholesalers’ capabilities to adopt and implement Banfi’s brand strategies and objectives through effective execution of the Banfi “Sales Process”.
• Insure that Banfi’s customers are managing Banfi’s brand strategies to the trade.
• Call on retail, on-premise, and chain accounts in conjunction with the distributor.
• Create strategic partnerships with national and regional on premise restaurant concepts and management groups.
• Possess ample knowledge of products, wine industry, competitive brands and markets.
• Cultivate cross-departmental relationships within the company, especially between sales and marketing, to carry out Banfi’s brand strategies. Adherence to executive directions is a critical part of the job.
• Exercise appropriate behavior with Banfi’s Suppliers, always representing supplier brands in the best and most professional manner.
• Exercise the highest level of fiduciary duty to the company in all financial matters including budgets, promotional spending and every aspect of the Company’s business.
• 40 % of time spent planning, organizing, directing, and controlling execution.
• 40 % of time spent with Banfi and Distributor managers and the trade.
• 20 % administrative, pre-planning, and follow up.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
• A four-year college degree and/or equivalent work experience. Equivalent work experience could include supplier, distributor sales or wine industry management jobs.
• Good written communication skills. Must possess the ability to complete all necessary written reports, correspondence, and presentations to satisfactorily meet the job duties
• Good oral communication and interpersonal skills. Incumbent must be able to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise business manner.
• Fluent PC skills. Must have a working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Diver , AC Nielsen and other company software.
• Good time management skills
• Mathematical skills. Requires ability to calculate and interpret financial data which effects everyday Banfi business
• For certain markets, multi-language skills are required or would be a plus, i.e. Italian/Spanish
• Interpretive skills. Must possess the ability to define problems, establish facts and collect data to interpret issues, draw valid conclusions from the data and recommend solutions to the business problem.
