Giving the Devil His Due
Tall, dark, and slender best describe the newly designed gift tins for Concha y Toro’s Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenere, and Chardonnay.  Casillero del Diablo means “Cellar of the Devil” in Spanish and the wines’ new label and packaging spotlight this devilish theme.

These gift tins, with wine bottles that sport an embossed metallic devil icon below the neck and a vibrant red, black and white label that includes the century-old legend of the “Cellar of the Devil” make an elegant hostess gift or party present. The suggested retail price for a 750ml bottle in the gift tin is $10.00 each. They are available from October through December on a national basis
Concha y Toro Casillero del Diablo offers wine lovers the opportunity to participate in the propagation of a century old legend known throughout the world. In the 19th century, the founder of Concha y Toro, Don Melchor, discovered that his vineyard workers were pilfering his greatest wines. To discourage this action, Don Melchor made it clear that his deepest, darkest cellar was the Casillero del Diablo (Cellar of the Devil), so that no one would dare go in there. It worked, and a legend was born. Today, this mysterious and legendary cellar continues to hold the finest, estate grown wines of Casillero del Diablo.

The Cabernet Sauvignon is deep red in color and has bold flavors of red cherries and black plums. The Carménère, Chile’s signature grape, is tasty and intense with lush aromas of ripe fruit, concentrated cherry flavors, and a subtle spicy finish. The Merlot offers soft black fruit flavors with plenty of character.

The Casillero del Diablo Chardonnay has a straw-yellow color with heavy pineapple fruit, toasty oak and a creamy butter texture. It is an elegant wine balanced by crisp acidity.

Concha y Toro is the best-selling Chilean line of wines in the United States and one of this country’s top 5 imported wines and retails for about $10.00 for a 750ml bottle.

Chilean wines continue to be a fast growing category and Concha y Toro is the undisputed leader in quality, reputation and popularity. In fact, Concha y Toro is the #1 selling wine from Chile in the United States.
