Popular wine brand Walnut Crest recently expanded its line of wines to include a Pinot Grigio from Italy, a varietal which has become a favorite choice for wine drinkers around the world.
“The addition of Pinot Grigio to the Walnut Crest line provides the consumer with a full selection of well-known wines at appealing prices,” said Alicia Angione, senior brand manager for Walnut Crest’s US importer Banfi Vintners of Old Brookville, New York. The Pinot Grigio, starting with vintage 2002, complements a line that already includes Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from Chile as well as a White Zinfandel from California that is sold only in restaurants.
The grapes for Walnut Crest Pinot Grigio are grown in Italy’s Lombardy region, which is renowned for its crisp white wines. Made from 85% Pinot Grigio and 15% Chardonnay grapes, Walnut Crest Pinot Grigio is a fresh, fruity and clean white that pairs well with shellfish, lightly sauced pasta and poultry dishes. It also makes a refreshing aperitif.
Walnut Crest Pinot Grigio will be offered nationally in May, available in 750ml and 1.5 liter bottles retailing for approximately $6.00 and $10.00 respectively.
The Walnut Crest line of wines provides the consumer with a full selection of well-known wines at appealing prices, around $6.00 for 750ml bottle. Along with a newly introduced Shiraz, Walnut Crest offers Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc all from Chile.
