Concha y Toro Gives Its Xplorador A New Look for 2005
Old Brookville, NY (January 2005) Leading Chilean winemaker Concha y Toro has given its Xplorador line a packaging makeover for 2005.

Xplorador’s new, more elegant, and classically styled packaging includes a new label with stronger branding, and a stylish black capsule. The new label, with an elegant scalloped border, has as its focal point a re-designed and bold hand-etched Xplorador logo. Set directly above the varietal name, it is superimposed upon a watermark of the brand’s familiar compass rose. At the lower left-hand side of the label, the appellation and vintage date appear on a sophisticated stamp that also bears the compass-rose motif. At the bottom of the label, the recognizable Concha y Toro “Shell and Bull” icon is prominently displayed.

The new design applies to all sizes (750ml, 3L, 5L) and case graphics. The new packaging should begin appearing in the retail market by May of 2005.

Concha y Toro is the best-selling Chilean line of wines in the United States and one of this country’s top 5 imported wines. The fruit-forward and approachable Xplorador line includes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Chardonnay, and retails for about $7.00 for a 750ml bottle. Concha y Toro also produces its famed Don Melchor Cabernet Sauvignon, deemed by many as the finest Cabernet Sauvignon made in Chile. Other offerings include Amelia Chardonnay, as well as the Terrunyo, Marqués de Casa Concha, Casillero del Diablo, and Frontera lines.
