Xplorador Introduces Flavor Components
-For Those With a Taste for Adventure -

Concha y Toro, America’s leading imported wine brand, has introduced a revolutionary way to sample wine flavors – Xplorador Flavor Components, developed to reflect the specific flavors of Concha y Toro’s Xplorador brand. The non-alcoholic confections, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay flavors, will be available in wine retailers nationwide beginning this month.

Colorful, specially designed, varietal-specific containers will offer consumers a free trial of Xplorador wine’s prominent flavors. Shaped to resemble Xplorador bottles, each dispenser contains 100 samples encouraging consumers to try before they buy.

The Xplorador Flavor Component for Cabernet Sauvignon is reminiscent of that wine’s black cherry flavors. The Merlot Flavor Component bursts with plum and red fruit flavors mimicking the deeply colored Merlot wine. The Chardonnay Flavor Component offers tropical fruit flavors that reflect the rich and crisp Xplorador Chardonnay wine.

Xplorador wines are made in a forward-fruit style that makes them an ideal accompaniment to a wide range of foods. A 750-ml bottle of Xplorador wine retails for around $7.00.

Concha y Toro is the best-selling imported wine brand in the United States. Along with the winery’s popular Xplorador line, Concha y Toro also produces Frontera, Casillero del Diablo and the ultra-premium Don Melchor Cabernet Sauvignon, deemed by many as the finest Cabernet Sauvignon made in Chile.

Concha y Toro owns more than 7,400 acres (3,000 hectares) of vineyards in twelve separate estates throughout four of Chile’s premier winemaking regions; Maipo, Maule, Rapel and Casablanca. Xplorador’s Malbec grapes are grown in the Lujan de Cuyo section of Argentina’s Mendoza wine region also owned by Concha y Toro.
