Centine Rose 2006

This is vibrant and clean and richly redolent of forest fruit, red berry, dried sage and minerals. In fact, the herbal quality is unique and impressive. It’s clean and fresh in the mouth with medium persistence.   87 - BEST BUYS

Centine Rose 2005

A pleasant, barely off-dry rosé made of Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot. The soft strawberry flavors are a welcome summer relief from the ponderous cabernets and chardonnays of late. Pairings: with spicy and grilled foods, prosciutto.   * * * * (Fine)
- Michael Lonsford - The Houston Chronicle - 25 June 2007

"Rich, dry, crisp; intense cherry and cranberry flavors."   Recommended
- Fred Tasker – The Miami Herald - 8 February 2007

"Made from 60 percent Sangiovese and 20 percent each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - commonly called a "super Tuscan" blend. This was a dry rose with lots of wild berry flavors that would be a pleasant before-dinner drink or with light luncheon fare."
- Frank & Kate Sutherland – Tennessean (Nashville, TN) 10 January 2007

"Banfi’s Centine Rosé 2005 (the first vintage for this wine) is designated I.G.T. – Indicazione Geografica Typica – because rosé wines are not officially permitted in Tuscany. Who cares? This is a terrific version. The color is light cherry with a peach overlay, but the scents and flavors are pure strawberry-raspberry with hints of smacky, juicy melon and Rainier cherry. An impression of sweetness on the entry, because the fruit is so ripe, immediately turns dry. The texture is so dense that it’s almost viscous, but the wine is never heavy or anything other than supremely refreshing due to squinging acid and the lime and limestone that come in on the finish. Great job. Bottled with a screw-cap for easy opening."   Very Good +
- Fredric Koeppel - Koeppel On Wine - 27 August 2006

"A Cabernet/Sangiovese blend with cherry and a faint earthy note that nonetheless is worth a try. This is basically a pale red wine that’s refreshing, not a typical “tooty-fruity” rose."   Bargain of the Week
- Dan Berger's Vintage Experiences - 17 August 2006

"…rich; dry; intense cherry and cranberry flavors; crisp."

- Fred Tasker - Miami Herald - 3 August 2006

"Pink hue with a flash of copper. Fresh strawberry bouquet with a slight mineral influence. Sweet cherry and vanilla flavors with a secondary earthiness that finish on a dry, crisp note."   87

"New from Banfi Vintners is the inviting 2005 Centine Rose, a rose variation on the producer's popular Centine Rosso di Toscana. The dry rose is straightforward, floral and fresh."
