Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2000

"This particular wine in the Stonehaven Limestone portfolio is a perfect example of the fresh, fruity flavors of the region, with a hint of the earth tones those oceans left behind."
- Phillip Silverstone - Observer (Pennsylvania Beverage Journal) - January 2004

Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 1999

"A very good wine... It offers black plum and dry earthy flavors that extend through the finish; also has medium body and a nice blackberry-and-soil nose."   86
- Wine Enthusiast - June 2003

"Harmonious, with currant, cherry, red pepper and spice character. Flavors echo against fine-grained tannins."   90
- Wine Spectator - September 2002

"Brilliant ruby red hue. Chocolate, black cherry and Asian spice aromas. A medium-bodied palate leads to a fruit-driven finish offering youthful tannins and slightly low acidity."   86
- Beverage Testing Institute - August 2002

"This deeply colored red reveals a fresh berry scent and clean, equally fresh flavors... a good mouthful of sweet fruit balanced by the sandy tannins of this coastal region surrounding Coonawarra."   87
- Wine & Spirits - August 2002

"...rich, supple and harmonious wine that lets its currant, cherry, red pepper and spice character swing and sway through the lively finish, echoing the flavors against fine-grained tannins."   90
- Wine Spectator - July 2002

"...has generous, well-balanced blackberry, currant, dark plum, mint and vanilla flavors, a smooth texture and a long, oak-tinged finish."
- Robert Neralich - Arkansas Democrat Gazette - June 2002

"...an immensely likable wine... Beautiful ripe berry smells with mint and a hint of tobacco. Very soft, velvety tannins. Excellent balance and long finish."
- T.J. Foderaro - Newark Star-Ledger - April 2002

"This opaque ruby wine has a beguiling nose of sweet vanilla, black currant fruit and violet nuances. Its fine, firm tannins are sweetly ripe, and fresh acidity balances the delicious sunny fruit. That sweet ripe fruit and ripe tannin theme goes on and on, with toasty American oak notes joining in late."   91
- Irvin Wolkoff - Mediacl Post (Toronto) - March 2002

"Generous berry fruit with an herbal underpinning. The flavors are ripe and forward with good texture and balance."
- Wine News - February/March 2002

"Supple and lean in body while full of flavor, this claret-style red melds currant fruit with smoky, slightly green tannins."   86
- Wine & Spirits - February 2002

Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 1998

"Big complex aromas greeted us when the 1998 Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon was opened.  Pine, roses, tar, pepper, cinnamon, vanilla and brown sugar overpowered the blackberry in the bouquet.  A sour cherry and orange peel bitterness were found in the tastes along with black fruit and spearmint.  A bit out of the ordinary, this will be most appreciated by those that like Italian reds.  The bitter finish is similar to Italian offerings."
- Patrick Gerl - News-Star (LA) - 16 July 2003

"It has a ripe, rich--almost thick--bouquet of fruit, crème cassis, milk chocolate, and black currant. The angular palate shows cassis, black raspberry, blackberry, and black currant all surrounded by a bitterness at the edge before a broad, truncated finish."
- Harold J. Baer, Jr. - Colorado Wine News - January-March 2002

"Dark and dense, with deep flavors of currant, berry, herb and cedar mingling on the supple texture. Flavors echo nicely on the open finish."   87
- Wine Spectator - January 2001

"...tastes of berry and rich vanilla. It is a touch tight, seemingly possessing latent flavors that have yet to be expressed. Let it rest a year or two."   ***+
- WineReviews.com - November 2000

"...aged in French and American oak barriques for 12-18 months. It evidences that in its increased depth and complexity. It opens with a soft nose of currant, chocolate, smoky oak and vanilla. The medium weight, rich palate shows bright berry flavors of raspberry, cherry, red currant, and strawberry with a chocolate edge and some spice and oak accents before a medium to long and focused finish with fruit over light tannin and oak."
- The Colorado Wine News - October 2000

Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 1997

"...a well-made wine that displays the depth and quality of Australian grown grapes. The flavors are strong and rich accenting cassis, blackberries and dried cherries. In the background there is the traditional oak, which also supports a hint of eucalyptus. The wine is also blessed with a long and flavorful finish."
- Bennet & Sheila Bodenstein - TastingArizonia.com - July 2001

"Rich and concentrated, it evidences the sort of depth and complexity that usually characterizes wines costing much more... tastes of blackberries and plums, enhanced by an undertone that suggests chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied, it has the structure to sustain five to seven years of aging, but is also delicious to drink today... an excellent value."   Wine of the Week
- Paul Lukacs - Washington Times - February 2001

"Dense, with plum-prune, coffee and chocolate aromas, this wine offers very ripe dark-fruit flavors accented by tobacco and cedar shavings. The mouthfeel is big, but very easy, even soft... very pleasing"   88
- Wine Enthusiast - November 2000

"This spicy, earthy Limestone Coast wine is filled with dry, plumy fruit. It's dusty and warm..."   85
- Wine & Spirits - October 2000

"Spicy, fruity and well-balanced"   ***
- Michael Lonsford - Houston Chronicle - July 2000

"...a well-made wine that displays the depth and quality of Australian grown grapes. The flavors are strong and rich accenting cassis, blackberries and dried cherries. In the background there is the traditional oak, which also supports a hint of eucalyptus. The wine is also blessed with a long and flavorful finish. This wine, because of its structure, will need about an hour breathing time before it is ready to drink."
- Ben Bodenstein - On Wine! - July 2000

"This crisp style of Cabernet... offers nice blackberry and dark currant flavors to balance."   85
- Wine Spectator - February 2000
